Terms of service
The terms for using EviPostal, in plain words: accounts, money, carriers, acceptable use and liability.

Draft for legal review

The service
EviPostal is software for businesses that sell, manage or process shipping: a counter system, a way to compare carrier prices and book parcels, tracking, and an API. The carriers move the parcels; EviPostal is not a courier and does not carry anything itself.
Accounts and approval
- An account is opened for a business by a person allowed to act for it. The details given must be accurate and kept up to date.
- A new business starts in review. It can set up, invite staff and practise with test rates; live carriers, wallet top-up and card payments switch on once EviPostal has approved it.
- Each staff member has their own sign-in and a role. Sign-in details must not be shared, and the business is responsible for what its staff do in the account.
- EviPostal may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other businesses at risk, and will say why.
Money
- Shipping is paid per parcel from the business’s wallet, which the business tops up. Wallet top-ups are payments to EviPostal.
- Every shipment is charged at the EviPostal rate: the carrier’s price plus EviPostal’s margin, shown as one number before booking and stored on the quote. The price the business charges its own customer is the business’s own.
- Plans for the counter, parcels and mailboxes are charged as agreed when the business signs up or changes plan.
- Card payments taken at a business’s counter are paid to the bank account the business enters, through the payment provider. Cash and bank transfers never pass through EviPostal. Refunds of card payments follow the payment provider’s rules.
- Taxes on a business’s own sales are the business’s responsibility.
Carriers and shipments
- Each carrier delivers under its own conditions of carriage, which apply to the parcel.
- The business must not ship anything a carrier or the law forbids, and must describe parcels truthfully. A parcel that differs from what was entered may be re-priced by the carrier.
- A problem with a parcel can be raised in EviPostal and escalated to EviPostal’s team; what a carrier pays for a lost or damaged parcel is decided under that carrier’s conditions.
Acceptable use
- No illegal goods, no fraud, no harassment of staff or other businesses.
- No attempts to break into the service, to overload it or to reach another business’s data.
- API keys are secret and are not shared or resold. Access to the API may be withdrawn for misuse.
Data
The business is responsible for the details it enters about its customers and must have the right to use them. How EviPostal handles personal data is set out in the privacy notice.
Availability and liability
We work to keep EviPostal running, but carriers, payment providers and networks fail, and so can we. We are not responsible for a carrier’s delay, loss or damage beyond what that carrier pays under its conditions, or for losses caused by the business’s own mistakes or by events outside our control.
Where the law allows, our total liability to a business for anything arising from the service in any month is limited to the fees that business paid EviPostal for that month. Nothing in these terms excludes a liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Ending the service
A business can close its account at any time. EviPostal can end the service for a serious breach of these terms, with notice where possible. Financial records are kept after closure for as long as the law requires.
Changes
We may change these terms. Account owners are told by email before a change that matters to them, and continuing to use EviPostal after the change means accepting it.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Our contact details are on the contact page.
