Rate limits
Limits keep the API fast for everyone. They are counted per application and environment, in one-minute windows.
The limits
- A limit on all requests per minute.
- A lower limit on
POST /ratesper minute, because each one asks the carriers.
Your current limits are on the Developers overview in the dashboard, and every answer tells you where you stand.
Headers on every answer
| Header | Meaning |
|---|---|
RateLimit-Limit | Requests allowed in this minute. |
RateLimit-Remaining | Requests left in this minute. |
RateLimit-Reset | Seconds until the minute starts again. |
When you go over
You get 429 rate_limited with a Retry-After header in seconds. Wait that long, then continue. Spread batch work out rather than sending it all at once, and reuse rates instead of asking again for the same package.
